As I mentioned in part one, leaders can become myopic, focused on their perception of the perfect employee and quite often that perfect employee “looks” much like the person making the hiring decision.

It is terribly sad when a man’s death is a cause for celebration. If we live our lives with love and compassion, if justice is done, we leave behind a benevolent legacy.

Who was this man with so few mourners? What were his beliefs about himself, others and the world (personality) that lead him to this inauspicious fate?

Bin Laden died on May 01, 2011. The force that took him down has been identified as SEAL Team Six of the “Naval Special Warfare Development Group.” John Brennan, the president’s top counterterrorism adviser, said Monday. “I was confident that we had the basis to take action.”

When you consider the leaders with whom you have come in contract, the good, the bad and the ugly, what traits or characteristics stand out as essential for the effective leader?

Anger is a healthy and perfectly normal human emotion. It can motivate us to take action, feel empowered, or stand up for ourselves when we are being treated unfairly.

In addition to consistency, you will also need patience. Choosing one or two battles rather than focusing on each transgression will require supreme patience. The battles you choose should meet at least two criteria.
